Kim Sun Ah (S Diary, Wet Dreams) plays a female detective who has to go deep undercover as a high schooler in order to thwart a plot by the Japanese Yakuza to traffic teenage girls as sex slaves! Not content to save just the girls from a life of prostitution, Kim's character even lends a hand in squashing in-school violence, giving a performance that has earned raves from nostalgic audiences longing for the "good ol' days" of high school. Also featuring performances by Gong Yoo (My Tutor Friend), Nam Sang Mi (Too Beautiful to Lie), and Park Sang Myun (My Wife is a Gangster), She's On Duty is one film that goes straight to the head of the class!
Review:
It's a very nice movie especially seeing Gong Yoo in action as in real action.

Review:
I'm actually not a big fan of Hyun Bin but I still find the movie nice to watch though it's a typical korean plot already...

With a foolish mother and the need to look after her younger sister, "pretty boy" Go Eun Chan has to give up her feminine image to help support the family with multiple jobs. Because of her previous experience with Tae Kwon Do, Eun Chan has quite the bold and opinionated personality. Choi Han Kyul seems to know women well and thinks of himself as a great guy. After accidentally being mistaken for a man by Han Kyul's older brother, Choi Han Seong, she starts working at Coffee Prince, and falls in love with the hot-tempered owner Choi Han Kyul. Han Kyul hires Eun Chan to avoid an arranged marrage by pretending to be romantically linked to a "gay" Eun Chan. But Choi Han Kyul slowly starts to develop feelings for her, but still doesn't believe in love. Eun Chan also starts to have feelings for Han Kyul but can't confess that she's a woman, Han Kyul, continues thinking that the agonized Go Eun Chan is a man. Choi Han Kyul thinks he's experiencing feelings of homosexuality towards her, and gets heartsick. This side of him was drawn in a risky but fun way. The part when he discovers that Go Eun Chan is a woman is shown in an undemanding way, and the story doesn't concentrate on just these two people, but also on the other people who frequent Coffee Prince. These people are shown one by one in a natural way, and since the story isn't just about romance but about the natural conflicts of all the characters.
Review:
I've seen Episodes 1-6 and from my point of view this is a no ordinary drama compared to the rest. The goofiness of Eun Hye is superb. She's perfect for the role. I've read other reviews as well and I would have to agree it is her acting which brought this series all the way up from being on the 7th position to 2nd in the rating all over Seoul and nationwide as well. Some dramas you could easily guess what's going to happen, it's almost like some storylines are somewhat similar already -- but i would have to say that with Coffee Prince it's different -- they will just surprise you... I as one can't wait for Episode 7 & 8 which will be aired on Monday, July 23 and 24. The setting, the storyline, the casts and even the music is very well prepared. Her acting is very unusual, I'd say she's the only one who did that kind of role perfectly.
Review Update as of August 13, 2007:
Everyone's going goo-goo-ga-ga over "Coffee Prince" and obviously they're hitting the chart! YEH's perfomance together with Gong Yoo and the rest of the casts are totally superb. The originality of the script truly deserves an award even the music scores.
I as one haven't updated this site for almost a month since I got stucked with the "Coffee Prince Fever"... It's a MUST SEE drama! Videos with English Subtitle is already out from 1st Cup to 10th Cup (they call it cup in the drama instead of episode).

Windstruck

Title: Windstruck
Language: Korean
Subtitle: English
Genre: Action, Drama
Released: 2004
Rating: 5/5

Casts:

Sypnosis:
Officer Kyung-jin Yeo, an ambitious young female police officer serving on the Seoul police department. One day while chasing a purse snatcher, she accidentally captures Myung-woo Ko (played by Jang Hyeok), a physics teacher at an all-girls school, who was actually trying to catch the thief. Later, Myung-woo discovers the stolen purse, but just as he picks it up, Kyung-jin spots him and tries to arrest him again. Kyung-jin is then given the job of escorting Myung-woo through a dangerous district, only to be distracted when she tries to break up a meeting between Russian Mafia and Korean gangsters. With Myung-woo handcuffed to her, Kyung-jin almost single-handedly brings down the two rival gangs (although she is helped when she accidentally causes the groups to start shooting at each other).
The first half of the film, told from Myung-woo's point of view, details the couple's growing attraction and love for each other, which climaxes with a trip to the countryside where Myung-woo tells Kyung-jin that if he were to ever to die, he wanted to come back to earth as the wind. Soon after, he is almost killed in a freak automobile accident, but Kyung-jin saves his life.

Review:
