It's a battle for love between bitter rivals: a primary school teacher...and her twelve year-old student? From Jang Kyu Sung, director of the hit comedy My Teacher, Mr. Kim, comes Lovely Rivals, a hilarious and bittersweet comedy about an unlikely love triangle. Yeom Jung Ah (co-star of A Tale of Two Sisters, and winner of the 2004 Best Supporting Actress Award at the Dae-Jong Film Festival) is Yoe Mi-Ok, a lazy elementary school teacher who longs for a bigger and better teaching job. Thanks to her fiery and sometimes mean personality, Mi-Ok is unpopular with everyone in school. For herself, she couldn't care less – that is, until she meets the handsome new teacher (Lee Jee Hoon) and instantly falls in love!

Mi-Ok pretends to be kind and sweet to win his heart, but romantic competition arrives in a surprisingly pint-sized package: Ko Mi-Nam (Lee Se Young), one of Mi-Ok's students, and a romantic rival to be reckoned with! A recent transfer from another school, Mi-Nam is precocious both physically and mentally, and is determined to expose Mi-Ok's true personality for all to see! The two "women" engage in an escalating war, but beneath their battles there are lessons to be learned. Can Mi-Ok rediscover what it truly means to be a teacher? With a top cast, winning characters, and heartfelt laughs, Lovely Rivals is a surprising and genuinely crowd-pleasing comedy that's sure to entertain!

I love this movie -- it's hilarious!

A Perfect Match

Title: A Perfect Match
Language: Korean
Subtitle: English
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Realeased: 2002
Rating: 3 /5

Shin Eun-kyung
Jung Jun-ho
Gong Hyung-jin
Kim Yeo-jin.

Hyo Jin is a marriage consultant. She organises dates between people too busy to socialise and find their own `Perfect Match`. It is a job she gains much satisfaction from and one she is good at. Her advice and her own personal life are not synchronous however - she has an unseen boyfriend whose presence is only expressed by a photo on her desk at work and spends most nights with friends on their own search for love.

The character that Shin Eun-kyung played in this movie is somewhat similar to the recent american movie "hitch" -- just similar but not exactly. Similar in a sense that they're both a matchmaker.

I've actually skipped a few scenes in the beginning of the movie.
It's funny but not as romantic as I've imagined it would be.

The otherwise idyllic landscape turns suddenly to bedlam, when a terrifying creature climbs up onto the riverbank and begins to crush and eat people. Gang-du and his daughter run for their lives, but suddenly the being grabs Hyun-seo and disappears back into the river. The government announces that the monstrous thing apparently is the Host of an unidentified virus. Gong Hyo Jin as Na Bo-ri

Kim Da Hyun as Ji Hyun-woo
Choi Yeo Jin as Noh Jem-ma

Na Bori (Gong Hyo Jin) is a 25 year old woman who desperately wants to be a teacher at the high school she was kicked out of due misunderstanding with her teachers over injuring a group of male classmates. After getting her GED, she rejects job offers from other high schools and works on becoming a teacher at her old high school so she could work side by side with her high school love interest, the art teacher Ji Hyun Woo (Kim Da Hyun). However, the only thing that enables her to get the coveted job is by signing a contract to essentially babysit Park Tae In (Gong Yoo), a troublemaker who attends the same high school. Tae In, a lonely youth, quickly becomes the "jjang", or "king" of the high school, and enjoys playing mean tricks on Bori. Noh Jemma (Choi Yeo Jin) is jealous of the relationship between Bori and Tae In, and goes out of her way to get Bori kicked out...

One good thing about this drama was that they didn't just focus on the main characters but moved along with the rest of the casts with a share of their own li'l stories. Gong Yoo's acting here was superb which I'm sure have been noted by a lot of viewers already.
